San Antonio Botanical Garden Wedding

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that every wedding should incorporate something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. WELL, Fun fact #1: that saying comes from an Old English rhyme and those items are intended to bring the good luck to your big day. Fun fact #2: Sascha and Paul had the “something old” thing down pat at their Fall wedding held at the gorgeous San Antonio Botanical Garden. The venue was the perfect setting, the weather was gorgeous, and the colors WOW… I knew that it was going to be an extraordinary special day. Sacha and Paul planed a sweet, intimate wedding shared between themselves and their closest family and friends.

Thank you again for letting us to be part of your day, Sascha and Paul, and congratulations on hosting a beautiful, love-filled wedding!

Personal wedding detail:

Sascha and Paul’s rings were her paternal grandparents rings

Sascha and Paul couldn’t bring their dog to the wedding even though they really wanted to so they included him by ordering a custom stamp of him and stamping the back of each program

Sascha had a white satin ribbon on her bouquet that had buttons on the end of it… it was part of her grandmothers wedding dress which her mom also wore on her own wedding day

Floresville Texas Wedding

“Love is friendship that has caught fire."

Heather and Jeremiah met as teenagers.  They were friends for many years, before they fell in love.  They were married on a warm March day in Floresville, Texas. The ceremony and reception were held outdoors on the sister and brother-in-law of the bride’s sprawling, oak filled property.  Heather and Jeremiah were joined by their family, their closest friends and co-workers, and their adorable son.

Heather wore a gorgeous white gown, with lace and beading details on the sweetheart bodice and a full skirt with a train.  Her chestnut brown hair was worn half up in cascading ringlets. Jeremiah looked handsome in jeans and cowboy boots with a black vest, maroon necktie, and a black cowboy hat.  Their son, wore the same outfit as his Daddy, in true “mini-me” fashion.

Heather walked down a satin aisle holding a fragrant bouquet of maroon and light pink flowers accented with eucalyptus.  She met her beaming groom at a handmade wooden arbor, accented with candles and flowers. A sermon was given and the couple exchanged heartfelt handwritten vows.  The big surprise came when the couple gifted the Father of the Bride an actual cow! The Father of the Bride was presented with a picture of his new cow and given instructions that it was ready for pick up on Monday!  After sealing their union with a kiss, it was time for the party to begin.

A delicious homemade dinner, drinks, and a candy bar was served to guests who dined under a white marquee. A DJ played music as Heather, Jeremiah and their guests danced under the stars in to the late hours of the night.

Congratulations Heather and Jeremiah!  We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Scenic Springs Wedding

“Loving someone and having them love you back is the most precious thing in the world.”

Nancy and Carlos’ love story is one that truly touched my heart.  Their love was found later in life, but the fact that their love blossomed after trials and tribulations, makes it the sweetest kind of love.

Nancy and Carlos were married on a sunny August day at Scenic Springs in Helotes, Texas. There was much anticipation in the air and they each prepared for the ceremony.  Nancy looked radiant in her white lace gown with her hair styled up.  Carlos was dashing in his matching gray vest and slacks and peacock blue and purple plaid neck tie.  On his lapel, he wore a single Calla Lily.  Nancy walked down the aisle with a bouquet of Calla Lilies on the arm of her son.  Once they reached the flowered arch, he joined the wedding party, which consisted of Nancy and Carlos’ children and their two best friends, and Nancy joined hands with Carlos.  They exchanged heartfelt vows in front of their closest family and friends and sealed their union with a passionate kiss.

The reception was held in the beautiful Scenic Springs grand indoor hall.  Dinner and dancing were enjoyed by all the wedding guests.  Carlos gave a beautiful toast in which he thanked several of his military friends, who literally saved his life.  Without them, that special wedding day would not have been possible.

Carlos and Nancy, thank you for the privilege of photographing your special day and thank you for your military service.  We wish you a lifetime of happiness together.

“You will forever be my always.”

Katy and Ryan are high school sweethearts. There is something incredibly romantic about finding your soulmate when you are still a child and growing into adults together. How wonderful to spend your whole life loving the same person!

Katy and Ryan were married on a bright winter day at the St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. The church is impressive from the outside, with a large gabled roof and a tall bell tower. From the inside, the St. Anthony Claret is downright gorgeous, featuring a soaring ceiling and walls of glass windows that flood the sanctuary with beautiful light. Ryan looked dashing in a black tuxedo and matching black bow tie. His six groomsmen also wore black tuxedos and black ties. Katy was stunning in a white v-neck tulle and lace gown with a jeweled waist and a jeweled headband in her dark hair. Katy’s six bridesmaids wore emerald green, floor length dresses and accessorized them with white faux fur wraps. The flower bouquets were a unique mix of burgundy and light pink flowers and succulents. Everything came together for a fresh twist on a classic look.

The wedding reception was held at the Éilan Hotel & Spa, a boutique luxury Tuscan-inspired hotel in San Antonio. Before the reception began, we were able to have a fun portrait session with the wedding party on the dramatic signature staircase that leads to the Éilan Hotel & Spa. The elegant Incanto Ballroom was decorated with beautiful linens, burgundy and pink florals, a candy bar, and a delicious wedding cake. A DJ played music as the happy couple danced the night away.

Congratulations Katy and Ryan! We feel honored that you chose us to photograph the most important day in your lives thus far.
